Colégio Técnico da UFMG (COLTEC)
O COLTEC, desde a sua criação, tem o propósito de ser referência para as demais escolas do país. Sua influência tem sido justificada em função de sua organização, da crescente qualificação de seu pessoal docente e técnico, da infra-estrutura dos seus laboratórios e, principalmente, em função do seu projeto educativo, que possibilita a formação do estudante de nível médio e técnico com uma significativa base científica, experimental e humanística e um contato permanente com instrumentos e técnicas atualizadas.
O COLTEC participa do PIBID e Residência Pedagógica desde a criação desses programas.
Francis Arthuso Paiva possui doutorado em Linguística pela Faculdade de Letras da UFMG. É chefe e professor do setor de Letras do Colégio Técnico e do Mestrado Profissional da Faculdade de Letras da UFMG – PROFLETRAS. Tem interesse pelos estudos e pela pesquisa em leitura, produção de texto, colaboração, letramento digital e visual, na perspectiva da multimodalidade e da pedagogia dos multiletramentos, para o ensino aprendizagem e para a formação de professores.
Foi professor preceptor do Residência Pedagógica em Língua Portuguesa no COLTEC, recebendo estudantes da Faculdade de Letras da UFMG.
Junto com outros colegas, nesses 12 anos de COLTEC e UFMG, desenvolveu várias atividades de ensino de leitura, produção de texto e literatura com os estudantes. Algumas viraram projetos de ensino, pesquisa e extensão.

A Escola Estadual Ari da Franca é situada no bairro Santa Mônica, em Belo Horizonte.
De 2018 a 2020, a escola foi parceira da UFMG no programa PIBID/Letras/UFMG e, de 2020 a 2022, do RP/Letras/UFMG. Um banner produzido sobre o projeto no PIBID pode ser acessado aqui.
A professora Osmara de Oliveira Portilho, da E. E. Ari da Franca, foi preceptora/orientadora de Línguas Estrangeiras no PIBID e no RP. Osmara possui graduação em Letras (licenciatura Português e Inglês) pela Faculdade do Nordeste Mineiro (2003). Tem experiência na área de Letras (Inglês) em cursos de idiomas, bem como em escolas como professora e coordenadora. Possui Pós Graduação em Língua Inglesa e em Educação Inclusiva. Curso pela Prosperity Fund da Embaixada Britânica no Brasil Pearson English Interactive e curso pelo Cultura Inglesa Advanced 1 Course to attend Cambridge Test FCE.

A escola é aberta para a recepção da comunidade escolar para atividades de taekwondo, bem como atividades na pista de skate.
Os alunos são protagonistas nos recreios operando a Rádio da escola e fazendo apresentações artísticas.
Vale ressaltar que a escola foi uma das contempladas com o prêmio do projeto “Educar para Transformar”, com o projeto Ludo aprendiz.
